So, as I was looking at the PC/NPC/Beast thread, it struck me... the game has details about the story behind magical items and whatnot, so I thought...

Shouldn't we sort of do the same? Like, make a lore place for magical/special/unique items we can all contribute to, to some extent, and so everyone can read the story behind them, what they do, etc., and so people would know what kind of myths and legends are about for those kinds of things?

A pitch for a possible template associated with items:

Name: The name of the item.
Ravager Sword.

Type: The kind of item it is, longsword, shield, etc.
One-handed Scimitar.

Appearance: A brief description of the item's appearance.
Each of these swords are curved, and along the inner curve are several teeth carved out of the metal to form jagged spikes that can rend flesh and armour. On both sides along the blade is carved a groove to transport the blood of enemies along it down towards the handle.

Properties: An explaination of the abilities of the item, for example increased strenght, etc.
The Ravager Swords are all imbued with old enchantments that leaves the swords in permanent repair. They do not rust, nor do they need sharpening. In addition, each of them are vampiric in nature; with each slash of the blade, a bit of lifeforce from the enemy is absorbed by the blade and some given to the wielder. However, the blade needs feeding, and so the wielder is urged by suggestions of the mind to do so, urging him to kill to satisfy its needs, and if not, it will instead feed on the wielder.

History: The history of the artifact.
It is not known exactly when the Tevinter mages begun binding demons to weapons, but one example of the result are the infamous Ravager Swords. Each of them bound with the spirit of a lesser Hunger Demon, these semi-sentient swords crave the flesh and blood of the living, and know no greater joy than to feed on such. Though most of these swords are lost in the mists of time, there are still rumours circulating about of these horrid artifacts. Over time, many tyrants and murderers are said to have these swords in their possession, and indeed, they do seem to attract those with a natural inclination towards slaughter.

Myths/Rumours/Legends: Here you can list whatever info might be able to be obtained of this artifact, whether true or false. Provides the characters with a way to recognize the item and identify it or possibly seek it out.
It is rumoured that the lord Marik of the town Tallenbak somewhat south of Denerim might have received a sword matching this description from an unknown benefactor.

A myth states that one of Andraste's followers once came upon a Ravager Sword and felt disgusted by its presence. However, as she was to grab it to
deliver it to her Revered Mother, her faith utterly destroyed the sword. Sadly, so was her sanity, and she was rendered permanently insane, muttering blasphemies and cradling herself.
